The joy of swimming against the current is different. It is an easy way to travel on a dirt road, but it is an indescribable joy to reach the goal by traveling hard through the ditches and thorns. Such a tough, thorny path has been chosen by the Jain Cultural and Educational Board Ichalkaranji since 1992. Sanmati Matimand Vikas Kendra is a sincere effort of the organization to create greenery in the lives of special children.

Ichalkaranji one of the leading textile centers in the decentralized sector of our county aptly known as the Manchester of Maharashtra. People from wide range of economic layers viz. power loom workers, salary earners, Government servants, industrialists, traders, merchants etc constitute lump of population which is touching to three lakhs.

Apart from housing the one-fifth of the power loom of the state which are being modernized with faster pace, the town has also a number of educational institutes imparting education right from play-group to engineering and management colleges.

Our Preamble

Despite buzzing schools, colleges and engineering campuses, the town lacked the schooling for mentally retarded children. The crowded schools disregarded the necessity of the school for the MR. Hence, in order to meet the demand of a special educational unit for such neglected handicapped children so also to open branch to provide special counseling, remedial educational guidance and requisite infrastructure under trained teachers, Jain Sanskruthik & Shaikshank Mandal was establish in 1992. The motto of the institute is to serve the otherwise deemed as burden to family society and ultimately to nation’ the unfortunate mentally disabled children. The institute aim not to leave them to pity of the people but to bring them into mainstream.

Advancement

In the advancement of 20 years and odd our institute has spread over a number of activities under various branches. It is a single and first school of its kind in Ichalkaranji, following mission to help the mentally retarded children. Sincere efforts of our teachers, co-operation of the parents so also financial and moral support of various generous organizations in the city, we have been making strident progress towards the rehabilitation of these neglected community. Following branches of our institute come up during a span of score, reveal the outstanding achievement to our sustained efforts.
